Operose has been cooperating with this factory since 2016. Before deciding to move our production here, we visited them in Augustavas and met up with co-workers from the whole production line, to make sure their working conditions matched our high standards. Other factories with other resources are responsible for the production Elin, since it takes special machines are required to succeed in sewing in such a thick tricot. The production of Maja also takes place at another factory with long experience of shirt sewing and which is located in the vicinity of the fabric production for the shirt.
It’s important to us that the production takes place as close as possible to Sweden and within the EU, so that we can visit the factories easily, to ensure that the quality is kept high and to meet seamstresses and staff. We also want to support strengthening of the European production, which is increasingly struggling because of the competition from low labour cost countries, mainly in Asia. We also want to follow European legislation and directives. For example, health and safety legislation in Europe ensures, among other things, that seamstresses have the right to reasonable pay, reasonable working hours, insurance, and protection against discrimination.
Another aspect important to us is to keep the transport distances as short as possible from the factory to our customers in Europe to reduce our environmental impact. Our products are transported by truck and boat from Lithuania to Sweden and it takes about 5 days.
Below you find the production units we cooperate with.
