A calendar for your own cultivation!
Which tomato gave the greatest harvest? When did I sow the radishes that were so good in late autumn? And how do I remember the mistakes from spring onion sowing? When the head is full of cultivation ideas and the hands are full of soil, it is not easy to keep track of everything. The quick notes in the phone or on the seed bag are easily lost and the memory is, as you know, far too short. Better then to gather everything in one book!
If anyone knows what is needed to keep track of a solid year-round cultivation, it is of course Sara Bäckmo, and in her Cultivation Calendar she shares the basics, month by month. With clear headings for each month's sowing, retraining, planting, fertilizing and harvesting, you can record what happens in your garden for five years and create your very own knowledge bank for cultivation adapted to your garden's unique conditions.
Each month begins with a text where Sara tells about the current month based on the Skillnadens Trädgård (translation: Garden of Difference): what is happening there right now? Bursting among the pages for your own notes is Sara's best tips and advice on how to get a magnificent vegetable cultivation during a large part of the year.
Sara Bäckmo is a journalist who cultivates and writes about the Skillnadens Trädgård in the Nordic region's largest garden blog (www.sarabackmo.se). She also produces the podcast Skillnadens Trädgård by Sara and lectures extensively on vegetable growing.
Maria Fors Östberg shares Sara's garden passion and has been following the work in Skillnadens Trädgård with the camera for several years. She works as a freelance photographer and writer.
